RUEL KENNETH A. FELICES
Digital Campaigner
Ken is a high achiever who excelled in many aspects — graduated cum laude (BS Development Communication University of Southern Mindanao), active student leader, accomplished debater, writer, host, actor, and community work volunteer. He brings to IDIS strong advocacy skills honed back when he campaigned for indigenous people’s rights, LGBT rights, HIV-AIDS, and peace.
Currently, he is taking his post-graduate study at University of Southeastern Philippines (MS in Development Communication).
Having been active in various academic and community extension engagements, Ken is used to dealing with people from diverse backgrounds. His strong interpersonal and communication skills, dedication to a cause, and being accustomed to working under pressure come in handy as he is tasked to handle IDIS’ digital platforms and media advocacy. He believes that digital platforms can truly be harnessed to facilitate and help in furthering IDIS advocacies.
Ken is well aware of the high price of environmental destruction that we have to pay in the name of development. Growing up, he walked from school to home, giving him lots of time to enjoy the beauty of nature. Ken joined IDIS believing in the organization’s role as society’s watchdog in environmental protection. He hopes to see the vision of sustainable development among IDIS and its networks materialize.
