Last 2020, the World Vision Philippines , in partnership with Ecowaste Coalition , launched the Philippines, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka (PHINLA) Project in Davao City, where Brgy. Mintal is one of the recipients of the project. This project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Global Development (BMZ), aims to empower the waste collectors in the barangay and address poor waste management concerns.
The empowerment of waste collectors and communities affected by poor waste management will be done by using waste as a resource to create employment and for them to earn income while tackling health and environmental issues associated with waste.
