REY ANTHONY A. SAPID

Community Organizer

Rey has served as a volunteer of IDIS since he was in high school. He became a full-time staff of the organization in 2016, working on the Disaster Response and Preparedness special project. He’s been actively involved in various volunteer and paid engagements that exposed him to community development work.

He served as Coordinator of Kinaiyahan Amomahon Panggaon Panalipdan ug Irespeto in 2012 to 2014 where he documented different environmental issues of people’s organizations and facilitated trainings and IECs on watershed protection and basic ecology to different schools in Davao City. He has conducted evaluation and monitoring of Child-friendly Spaces project of the Mindanao Action Group for Children Rights and Protection for survivors of Typhoon Pablo in municipalities of Montevista and Monkayo in Compostela Valley. He also worked as non-Teaching staff of Tuburan Institute and served as a Project Staff of Tambayan Center for Children’s Rights Inc. / Luna Legal Resource Center for Women and Children, Inc. where he conducted IECs and organized children’s theater group to strengthen their awareness on human trafficking.

He is likewise a two-term Central Council Member of YouthLead Philippines, Inc. since 2013. Rey is set to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development from University of Southeastern Philippines.
